The last time I was saying Happy New Year I had Cancer and was just about to start treatments. 2021 was wild! Pandemic life, Cancer diagnosis, beating Cancer, working on myself, ups and downs in relationships, podium in triathlon, thoughts in possible career change, holidays and Covid. Yes my friends and family .. the cron got me on Christmas. I mean come on… what’s life in 2021 for me without the cron after Cancer and all.
The cliche thing to do was to blog on January 1st but to be quite honest I felt Monday, January 3rd was a better way to go. January 1st and 2nd you’re kind of like “new year new me” but I really do feel that the first Monday back to work and back to reality after eating and drinking yourself into a coma is important.
I did promise myself and my fans that I would blog monthly but as you can see I missed a few months. Tis is life … So as most of you know, I work at Verizon, home of the 5Geeeeeeee! We have these calls daily, weekly, etc. since we’ve been home living that remote life….and sometimes we are surprised with very special guests. We had a guest on the call about two months ago… Michael Phelps. We all know the Olympian very well and we may also know him for his not so great moments in his personal life. His interview was amazing! He hit on the good, the bad, the ugly and the embarrassing when it came to life and it really hit home. Obviously it turned Corporate America-ish toward the end but I really do want to share with you the notes I took that were beyond relatable to me and I’m sure to some or most reading. Plus there is no better way to start 2022 with some positive reinforcement of being OK not being OK.

Like I said, these are just notes I took and they can be interpreted in so many ways. As I sit here blogging, feeling slight guilty for going MIA on my blog, I’m kind of happy I waited and shared on Monday, January 3rd. Do what you wish with these .. and always remember we can do anything we put our mind to.
